Overview

The add_prestige command is used to adjust the level of prestige of your player character.

Prestige is a measure of respect, glory, and fame in a society.

High prestige can improve the opinion others have of you and provide a variety of benefits, like bonus to morale, faster diplomacy, etc.

When you use the add_prestige command followed by a numerical value, it will add that amount of prestige points to your current total.

For example, typing add_prestige 500 would increase your prestige by 500 points. The default value, if no number is entered, is 1000, so typing add_prestige alone will give you 1000 prestige points.

If you want to reduce your prestige for any reason (like increasing the game challenge), you can use negative values. For instance, add_prestige -400 will take away 400 prestige points from your total.

This command can be extremely useful if you have large expansionary objectives and need to improve your relationships with other characters for diplomatic or strategic reasons. This command gives you prestige quickly, bypassing the need to gradually build it up through in-game actions and decisions.

How to Open the Command Console

In CK3, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.

To open the command console press the ~ (tilde) key, which is typically located under ESC (escape).

If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:

  • ~
  • SHIFT + 2
  • SHIFT + 3
  • ALT + 2 + 1

Type your command into the console, and then press ENTER .
