Overview

The command add_realm_law is utilized for directly adding or passing laws for a certain character's realm without the typical prerequisites or waiting period.

Typically, changing laws requires time, ample prestige, and sometimes certain game conditions to be fulfilled. This makes laws difficult to change, representing their influence on the society and politics of the game world.

However, with the add_realm_law command, the player can bypass these restrictions for more rapid and strategic changes.

This command requires two parameters: the law ID, which specifies the exact law you want to pass, and the character ID, which tells the game for whose realm this law should be passed.

If no character ID is specified, the law will be passed for the player character's realm.

Laws

In CK3, laws are rules that govern how your realm operates. They can influence a wide range of aspects, including succession, vassal obligations, and the rights and responsibilities of different classes of characters.

Here are some examples of laws in CK3:

  • Succession Laws: These laws determine how a character's titles are distributed upon their death. They can vary greatly depending on the culture and religion of the character.

  • Gender Laws: These laws determine which gender can inherit titles in your realm. They can be set to favor males, females, or be equal.

  • Realm Laws: These laws govern the rights and obligations of your vassals. They can affect things like taxes, levies, and the ability of vassals to wage war against each other.

  • Crime Laws: These laws determine what actions are considered crimes in your realm and what the penalties for those crimes are.

Changing laws in CK3 can have significant effects on your gameplay. For example, changing your succession laws can help ensure that your realm stays united after your character's death, while changing your realm laws can help you gain more control over your vassals.

However, changing laws can be a complex process that often requires a certain level of prestige, the approval of your council, or specific conditions to be met.
