Overview

The remove_trait command removes a specified trait from a chosen character within your game.

Traits in Crusader Kings III are characteristic identifiers that define the abilities, personality, and even physical appearance of characters in the game.

When using the remove_trait command, you need to specify two things: the trait ID and the character ID.

The trait ID refers to the specific trait that you want to remove from the character, while the character ID is the alphanumeric identifier for the character you want to change.

For instance, remove_trait reveler_1 1030 removes the 'Eager Reveler' trait from the character with the ID of 1030.

This command can be particularly helpful in certain scenarios. For example, if a character has a negative trait that affects their decisions or relationships, using the remove_trait command to remove such a trait can yield favorable outcomes.

It's also useful if you're attempting a particular strategy that requires the absence of certain traits in your character.

How to Open the Command Console

In CK3, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.

To open the command console press the ~ (tilde) key, which is typically located under ESC (escape).

If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:

  • ~
  • SHIFT + 2
  • SHIFT + 3
  • ALT + 2 + 1

Type your command into the console, and then press ENTER .
