charinfo Console Command
Documentation and examples for the charinfo command in Crusader Kings III.
charinfo
This command toggles the character info tooltip, which displays extra debug information — most usefully a character's ID — when you hover over them. It is the standard way to find the character IDs that most other commands require.
Examples
Here is an example of how to use charinfo.
Toggles the character info tooltip on (showing character IDs on hover); run it again to toggle off.
Overview
The charinfo command toggles a debug tooltip that appears when you hover over a character in-game. With it enabled, the tooltip shows additional information about that character, including their unique character ID.
Many console commands — such as add_trait, kill, give_title, and most stat or skill commands — take an optional [character id] argument so you can target someone other than your own ruler. Because those IDs are not shown anywhere in the normal interface, charinfo is the usual first step: enable it, hover over the character you want to affect, and read off their ID.
Running the command a second time toggles the tooltip back off.
