This command switches the player to control the specified character.
The play
command allows you to switch control from the character you are currently playing as to a different character.
The syntax of the command goes like this: play [character id]
. You replace the [character id]
with the ID of the character you wish to switch to. For example, if you wanted to take control of a character with an ID of 140, you'd type play 140
into the console.
This command can be helpful in a variety of situations. Perhaps you are interested in playing as a different character in order to experience a different role or to pursue a different strategy.
Or maybe the character you were originally playing has died, and instead of succession happening normally (going to your character's heir), you'd rather switch to a different character.

In CK3, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.
To open the command console press the ~ (tilde) key, which is typically located under ESC (escape).
If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:
