Overview

The remove_doctrine removes a specified doctrine from a specified faith. If no faith is specified, the action will be carried out on your character's faith.

Doctrines refer to the specific traditions, customs, and laws that guide the behavior of your religion. This can include matters of marriage, clerical appointment, gender views, holy sites, and more. They will dictate certain game mechanics like who can become a bishop or who is allowed to raid.

The remove_doctrine command can be used to make significant modifications to the nature and rules of a faith, potentially removing limitations or unlocking new possibilities. For example, if you have a doctrine that prohibits divorce and you want to be able to get a divorce, you can remove that doctrine.

The syntax of command is:

remove_doctrine [doctrine id] [faith id]

For example, if you want to remove the doctrine Clerical Marriage Disallowed from Catholicism, you would enter:

remove_doctrine doctrine_clerical_marriage_disallowed catholic
