- All title holders within the realm can be targeted by wars declared by other rulers
- Top liege will not be involved in those wars on declaration
- Top liege can still join the war as an ally using Protect Vassal interaction
- Top Liege is more likely to join:
- Contested titles are kingdom or higher tier
- War targets multiple titles
- War lasts more than 5 years
- If the defender is weaker than the attacker
- Top Liege will not join:
- During the 1st year of the war
- When already at war
- When in debt
- If the defender is stronger than the attacker
