Whether you want to crown yourself King of France or hand a county to a loyal courtier, the give_title command transfers any title instantly. Just open the console in debug mode first.
Give yourself a title
Pass the title's ID to give_title:
With no character specified, the title goes to you. See our guide to finding title IDs for how the rank prefixes work.
Give a title to someone else
Add a character ID after the title to grant it to another character:
Remember that handing over a kingdom or empire transfers all of its de jure land and vassals, so use it carefully when boosting an ally.
Gaining titles without cheats
- Create them: once you hold enough of a title's de jure counties, you can create the duchy, kingdom, or empire for gold and prestige.
- Press a claim: fabricate or inherit a claim, then win a war to take the title legitimately.
- Usurp or grant: usurp weak neighbours, or grant titles to landless courtiers and family to manage your domain limit and vassal happiness.
Frequently asked questions
How do I give myself a title in CK3?
Use give_title followed by the title ID — for example give_title k_france. With no character ID the title goes to your own character.
How do I find a title's ID?
Title IDs use a rank prefix: b_ for baronies, c_ for counties, d_ for duchies, k_ for kingdoms, and e_ for empires, followed by the name. Debug mode also shows the ID when you hover over a title.
Does give_title transfer all the vassals under a title?
Yes. Granting a higher-tier title hands over its de jure vassals and land, which can instantly make a character extremely powerful.
